The Minnesota State Disc Golf Tournament is taking place today and Sunday at Cedar Creek Park in Fairmont. The park offers three 18-hole courses, and it’s right here in Fairmont. Trevor Boehne, an organizer of the tournament, shared that often times registration for tournaments in Fairmont fills up within minutes. What a great asset to the community, which also brings people to town.
This past week was National 4-H week. 4-H is an awesome organization that a lot of local people in Martin County are involved in. It’s a great way to help youth get involved and find out what they’re interested in. 4-H is a positive program and we’re lucky to have such a strong one in Martin County.
Red Rock classes
The Red Rock Center for the Arts added an art classroom to the basement. This is a great way to utilize space and offer more arts education classes. We’re happy to hear that the Red Rock will continue to focus on visual and performing arts, while also adding more classes for youth and adults.
‘ACE’ goes virtual
Area Career Exploration is a great program that helps youth explore area careers. This year, the program is branching out and going virtual in an attempt to reach more people. What an awesome collaboration between different entities, including the Chamber, Fairmont Schools and FEDA.
