Ceylon auction coming up in April

CEYLON — Ceylon City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ceylon City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is time for public comments/questions at the beginning of each meeting. If the comment will take more than five minutes or you want to be on the regular agenda, please contact the city clerk at (507) 632-4653 prior to the meeting.

Tuesday is also the date scheduled for the March meeting of the Ceylon Legion and Sons of the Legion. All members are urged to attend the 7 p.m. meeting at the Legends II building. Some of the agenda includes Memorial Day preparations. Everyone is needed.

Area churches continue their mid-week Lenten services and their regular services. The Wednesday services for the Circle of Faith parishes will be held 6:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. The dual parishes of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will be held at Wilbert’s church at 6:30 p.m. this week. Due to the pandemic, there will be no fellowship lunch or meal at any of these services. All area residents are invited to join these congregations for these Lenten services and their regular services.

Condolences to the family of Donald Schley, former Ceylon resident, who passed away. He will be missed.

The annual Ceylon Community Day Auction will be held on April 10 this year. For further information, contact the auctioneers: Mark Howell at (712) 260-9690, Gary Helmers at (507) 236-2921 or Larry Howell at (712) 260-9693. Hopefully the weather will be okay.

This is a sure sign of spring.
