They know the truth, but are not interested

At first, one might be inclined to think that liberals (wrongly) believe they can just “tax the rich” to pay for the government schemes they dream up. But since “the rich” actually do not have enough money to cover all these plans, one might conclude that liberals are just ignorant.

This is not the case.

Liberals know very well that even if they wiped out the assets of every billionaire in the country, they might be able to cover schemes such as “Medicare for all” for one year. What would they do then? Tax the middle class, of course. So they are not ignorant. They are liars.

But the falsehood about how the “Medicare for all” scheme would be funded is only part of the lie.

Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris, a presidential contender, is a proponent of “Medicare for all.” Recently, she said: “Who of us has not had that situation, where you’ve got to wait for approval, and the doctor says, well, I don’t know if your insurance company is going to cover this? Let’s eliminate all of that. Let’s move on.”

She is talking about “eliminating” private insurance. Which may sound good to some. (Not to us.) But is it?

As millions of people who rely on Medicare know, the federal government’s insurance program for older Americans often does not cover certain health care treatments. “I don’t think your Medicare is going to cover this” is a phrase many have heard. So millions of seniors turn to Medicare supplemental insurance from the private sector, paying for it out of their own pockets.

Say goodbye to that safety valve if Harris and fellow liberals have their way. Under “Medicare-for-all,” no one would be allowed to carry private insurance.

Which makes you wonder what is really driving this liberal agenda. Is it hatred of an insurance industry they do not understand? Hatred of the rich? Contempt for those in the middle class attempting to get ahead? A desire for power? An attempt to deny reality? All of the above?
