Endorsement for Trimont Mayor
Letter to the editor:
Bruce Borntrager and I grew up together here in Trimont. Through the years, I have known Bruce as an upstanding citizen, businessman, and someone who has always been involved in our community.
I served as Mayor of Trimont for 15 years, and for approximately seven of those years Bruce served with me on the City Council. I saw firsthand the knowledge and common sense he brought to the table. As a longtime businessman, Bruce understood finances, the importance of asking questions, and that decisions involving taxpayer dollars needed to be made carefully.
There were times when I had to be out of town and Bruce served as Mayor Pro Tem. Bruce is strong, confident, and willing to speak up when something needs to be addressed. I had complete confidence leaving the responsibilities of the Mayor's office in his hands.
Bruce has been involved in our community in many different ways over the years. He is noticeably present at events throughout the Trimont area and willing to volunteer where help is needed. Bruce and his business have also quietly supported our community through sponsorships and contributions, often behind the scenes and without looking for recognition.
I know Bruce personally, I worked beside him on the City Council, and I trusted him to step into the Mayor's role when I couldn't be there.
That experience is why I support Bruce Borntrager for Mayor of Trimont.
