"I.C.E." is not Christian!
To the editor:
"I.C.E." shouldn't even be a subject that a person calling themselves "Christian" needs to be told to be against! After all, we know we are the "illegal aliens" to God and Heaven! Yet he continues to forgive us with Love and even sent his son to suffer the punishment we deserve!
Yet, knowing all this, we still easily disregard and think we don't have to show such compassion to others. We eagerly join in on the evil and even become defensive about supporting unchristian activities!
We are to follow Christ's teachings - none of which directs us to treat our neighbor or even our enemies as those labeled as "illegal aliens" are being treated.
We know we are to rebuke such actions but allow ourselves to be swayed from Christ’s teachings by exaggerated negative propaganda.
Christians have been duped before by similar evil regimes such as the Nazi's lead by Hitler.
These are the same type of hatred-based divisional tactics and actions he employed against the Jewish people and those who supported them; invading homes, splitting up families, inflicting physical harm and deportation! In fact, most Germans thought the Jewish people were just being deported.
The truth is that NO Christian can defend supporting such actions using God's word. A person would have to actually deny Christ's word to justify support of these actions.
They would have to believe Christ didn't really mean how we are to treat others or that we aren't really suppose to rebuke all evil people and actions.
Unfortunately, these and other false beliefs are what we tell ourselves when following evil. As Christians, we are to deny worldly actions that go against Christ's teachings - no exceptions!
The following readings will help you remember what Christ expects of you:
Matthew 18: 23-35, Romans 12: 9-18, John 3:16-21, Ephesians 2: 11-22, Galatians 5: 13-26, John 14: 23-24
Pray that support of such evil actions like "I.C.E." would leave the hearts of Christians! That we use God’s word to not allow our tendency to put our earthly desires over Christ's teachings. Give us strength to fend off the Devil’s ways.
A Christian's stance in this situation should be to help develop solutions to citizenship with us; just as God has done for us!
