Township Day is March 10
To the editor:
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, residents of Minnesota’s 1,776 townships will have a unique opportunity to take part in Township Day. This annual event allows township residents to participate directly in local decision-making, a defining feature that sets township government apart.
Township Day annual meetings give residents a direct voice in how their township is governed, including voting on important issues such as the upcoming year’s tax levy. It is a clear example of grassroots democracy in action.
I encourage township residents to attend their annual meeting on Tuesday, March 10. Meeting times and locations are published in local newspapers or can be obtained by contacting your township clerk.
