Christian Stance – Illegal Immigration

To the editor:

There seems to be a lot of unchristian opinions from those that call themselves “Christian” regarding the nation’s current actions on – Illegal Immigrants. Leaving the only recourse is to rebuke such behavior and direct them back to what Christ teaches about such matters in the hope they will repent and change their ways.

If your stance is:

They didn’t follow proper legal ways to get into our country, trespassers, so they deserve to be sent back where they came from.

The government is doing the right thing by getting them out of the country with any means necessary.

They are a burden to our country by using up all our resources and many don’t even speak English.

The Bible doesn’t state anything about illegal aliens so it is my choice how I think and act on it — adiaphora.

If your thought process is similar or in line with any of these listed, you are NOT acting or thinking in a way Christ implores us to.

Read the following passages: John 3:12, John 3 16, Mark 12: 28-32, Exodus 22:21, 23:9, 1 Peter 2:11-17, Colossians 1:21-24, Ephesians 2

For some who may not have the time or ability to view God’s word I will give a brief summary.

We are the “aliens” to God in every way. WE have no “legal” right to spend eternity in his country (Heaven), yet he provided a path for us; sinners (illegal aliens) to do just that. He Loves us so much that he gave us more than any earthly resource – he gave us his son to suffer the punishment we deserved! We don’t even have the capacity to understand or speaking his language and yet he continues to put our needs 1st!

Remember this statement: “Forgive us our trespasses (depts., sins) as we forgive those who trespass (debt, sin) against us”. If your attitude towards these people, yes God’s people, is one that they are trespassing and deserve what is happening to them – Are YOU then prepared to accept the same when God treats you as such?

The Christian’s stance should be actions that help them with “Christian Love” to have citizenship with us; just as God has done for us!

It can NEVER be the Christian’s attitude and action to promote or support Evil!
