To the Fairmont City Council
To the editor:
I’m going to be honest — I’m disappointed.
I’m tired of watching good people get torn down while the same old nonsense keeps happening in City Hall. Pat Oman is the best thing that has happened to Fairmont in years. In the short time he’s been here, he’s already shown what real leadership, accountability, and action look like.
Unlike many who sit behind their desks, Pat actually goes out of his way to help residents and resolve problems that others ignore. He listens, he follows through, and he cares about this community.
Certain council members should be ashamed of themselves for their behavior and for attacking someone who’s finally making progress. Maybe they should look back in their own history books to see the shenanigans they’ve pulled before trying to discredit someone doing real work for Fairmont.
And let’s be honest — don’t listen to a disgruntled ex-employee who was terrible at his job and spent more time arguing than being productive. The city shouldn’t let that kind of noise drown out what’s actually being accomplished.
Fairmont needs leadership that works for the people — not against them. Pat Oman has earned the community’s trust and respect, and he deserves the full support of this council.
