Family in support of the community center 100 percent

To the Editor:

We moved to Fairmont to be closer to family from Mankato and used to utilize the YMCA there multiple times weekly. We loved the atmosphere and the opportunity to meet new people of all ages. My kids participated in many sports activities. I took fitness classes with individuals ranging age 20-75 (had a blast bonding and participating with all ages), and it provided us a space to get out in the long winter months. The health of our community and surrounding is important. We have left town countless times to visit OTHER communities centers (Lake Crystal, Mankato, New Ulm) since moving here and have relatives who do the same, what a bummer it would be to continue to do this when we have the opportunity to have one so close. We NEED this to happen.
