Bring Community Center to a vote

To the Editor:

Re: Fairmont Community Center

There is many mixed feelings on this topic. The fair and correct way to solve this is to bring it to a vote. This vote you will use your name, address, valid drivers license and proof you are not a felon. The question on the ballot will be “Do you want the Fairmont Community Center?” If you answer “No” then your real estate taxes will not be raised ever, you will not have to pay the one-half percent of sales taxes or any increases of sales tax for the items you purchase by using a card that shows you are exempt for this, your public utilities rate will never go up, it will be the same as of the day of the vote, and you are not allowed to use this facility.

If you vote “Yes” you will have to pay for this facility to be built and the upkeep for all future costs. You will pay for the employees and their benefits. The dollar amount will be divided equally for everyone that votes “Yes.” You may end up paying $30,000 a month or a year or even $500,000 a month or a year. You will be bound by a contract that even if you move from the area, you will still have to pay for this facility. For those of you that are not eligible to vote, you will automatically be put on the “Yes” vote or you have 30 days to move out of Fairmont and never return.
