New vocational addition

To the Editor:

Congratulations to Fairmont Area Schools and the Fairmont community for your support of the new vocational building at Fairmont High School. Students in Martin County are fortunate to have access to a comprehensive public high school that has six vocational academies, 24 college courses, 23 fine arts activities and 23 varsity athletic programs. The implementation and growth of the vocational programs at Fairmont High School sets the Fairmont community apart from almost every other community. Minnesota needs to replace thousands of skilled workers to replace the number of baby boomers that are retiring over the next few years. Fairmont Area Schools is fortunate to have the support of the business, manufacturing and farming community as they continue to provide a quality and comprehensive education for their students. Go Cardinals.
