Interagency Coat Drive
To the Editor:
Oct. 24, was a brisk fall day, yet a lot of people braved the cold to check out Martin/Faribault County Interagency’s annual coat drive in front of Twelve Baskets in Fairmont. It was heartwarming to see one individual that had no coat, and was in a sleeveless top, find a nice warm coat that fit. Others stopped by to drop off winter wear, coats and even home-made lap robes. One couple came to the event and insisted on giving back by donating milk. This truly was a day of thanksgiving and community connectedness. Without the help of Twelve Baskets donating their time, space, clothes racks, and hangers this event could not have taken place this year. So, hats off to Twelve Baskets, all our area service providers and the self-advocates that came to volunteer their time. This was another successful year.
