Fox Lake needs help
To the Editor:
I would like everyone to follow what is happening at the Fox Lake power plant that has been sold to a company that plans to put a scrap metal recycling business on the site. This could destroy the recreation, fishing and beauty of the lake. This is serious and everyone needs to learn what is going on before it is too late for Fox Lake.
Hot Meals needs help
To the Editor:
The Hot Meals on Wheels program in Fairmont is facing challenges when it comes to volunteers to deliver meals. We have multiple weeks that could potentially need a group to volunteer for meal delivery to those who are home-bound.
Each volunteer group is asked to make a two-week commitment, with the need for meal deliveries Monday to Saturday, with four routes that need to be delivered each day.
Maybe you are part of a coffee group or just a group of friends that is looking for ways to volunteer in your community … maybe you are a service organization that is looking for ways to give back … or even an employer here in Fairmont that sees that giving your time and your employees’ time back to the community is a worthy cause.
Hot Meals on Wheels and those we serve need your help. If you would like to do something that would be so meaningful for your community for two weeks out of the year, please contact Karen Toupal at (507) 236-8781.
