Feel blessed to live here

To the Editor:

We would like to thank the U of M Extension and Martin County Fair Board; our friends and family; and businesses and media for their outpouring of kindness and support when we were named Farm Family of the Year. We are humbled and blessed to live in Martin County. Thanks to all.

Welcome

Some need help with housework

To the Editor:

In today’s world, many people are struggling to live a normal life in which they don’t feel overwhelmed by the demands that each day brings. Right here in Martin County, men and women are facing challenges because of physical or mental disabilities. One of them is basic household chores. Things like vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, and washing dishes can leave an individual exhausted by the time they’re done.

CREST is looking for anyone who would be willing to go into an individual’s home on a volunteer basis and help them with these tasks. The only thing required is a willing heart and a helpful attitude. The reward is to hear the homeowner say, “Thank you so much. You’ve been very helpful.” If you would like more information on being a CREST “Home Helper” volunteer, please call (507) 235-3833.
