Feeding the hungry
To the Editor:
It’s hard to believe that almost a year has passed since the caring community of Fairmont came together to work for the great service … Kids Against Hunger.
Over the past years, this community has helped provide nutritious rice-based meals for children and adults, both locally and in Haiti.
I urge the Fairmont community to continue that support. We will once again hold a Kids Against Hunger food pack on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the St. John Vianney School gym. Please consider forming a team or making a monetary donation. Your involvement will make your life richer and provide a basic need for those less fortunate.
Donations can be sent to Sue Homan, 921 Hengen St., Fairmont, MN 56031.
Those who would like to may call Karen at (507) 848-1260.
As I reflect during this holiday season, I realize once again how lucky I have always been to have food on the table and in the cupboard. I have never known the true feeling of hunger. I hope every reader will take a long look into their hearts and consider joining us in this amazing effort to feed God’s children.
