FAIRMONT -- A Celebration of Life service for Dorothy J. Richards, 97, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2026, with visitation held one hour prior at the United Methodist Church in Fairmont. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn. Dorothy passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, with her husband by her side at her home at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont, Minn.
Dorothy Joanna (Corbett) Richards was born on July 10, 1929, in West Grove, Pa. Survivors include her husband, Douglas A. Richards of Fairmont, Minn.; children, Elizabeth (Neal) Johnston, Cynthia (Ron) Hillger, and Valerie Carlson; daughter-in-law, Patricia Richards; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Herrmann; sister-in-law, Joan Corbett; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dorothy's honor to the charity of the donor's choice. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
