John was born on July 25, 1949, in Hibbing, Minn., to George and Thelma Indergaard. He graduated from Edison High School in 1967. On June 8, 1974, John married the love of his life, Nikki. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories over more than 52 years of marriage. In 1984, John and Nikki moved to Trimont, Minn., where they made their home and raised their family. John spent his career as an over-the-road truck driver, traveling countless miles across the country. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows, golfing, and cheering on his favorite Minnesota sports teams, especially the Timberwolves and Vikings – and he was able to see the Vikings 6-0 this season. He also enjoyed working on home renovation and landscaping projects, always finding something to improve or create. In his younger years, he loved taking motorcycle trips and exploring the open road. John was never one to hold back his opinion. He said what was on his mind and had a sense of humor that could catch you off guard. His jokes always had people laughing... or shaking their heads. He was proud of doing life his own way. Above all, John treasured time spent with his family. Whether enjoying a family gathering, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, those moments meant the most to him. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the many memories they created together. John is survived by his beloved wife, Nikki; his son, Nathan (Bethany) Indergaard of Lakeville, Minnesota, and their children, Mina, Carter, and Blake; his daughter, Alyson (Mickey) Soderberg of Savage, Minn., and their children, Bryce, Cooper, and Aislin; and his sister, Linda (Bob) Wasilewski. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Rick (Cindy) Olson and Barry Olson; sister-in-law, Laurie (Cevyn) Meyer; and nieces and nephews, Wendy (Bobby) Smith, Morgan (Brett) Meyeraan, Patrick Meyer (Brooke), Cameron Meyer (Kinsley), along with extended family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Indergaard; his mother- and father-in-law, Kenneth and Joanne Olson; his nephew, Mitchell Olson; and his niece, Tina Wasilewski. John's memory will live on through the family he loved, the friendships he made, and the countless moments shared with those who knew him.
