Joan Ida (Plumhoff) Jones was born on Dec. 3, 1931, to Louis and Lydia (Wolle) Plumhoff at home on the farm in Martin County, Minn. She received her education by attending Waverly Township country school.
Joan was united in marriage to Charles Jones on May 19, 1950, in Northwood, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with three children, Sandra, Russell and Scott. They made their home in Ceylon, Fairmont, Minneapolis, Truman and eventually back to Fairmont. Joan worked at the bus depot and was a cook. She was self-employed and raised her three children.
Joan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and United Methodist Church in Fairmont. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and in her younger years involved in 4-H. Joan had a love for horses and enjoyed spending time doing the things that brought her happiness. She found joy in sewing, cooking, and baking, sharing her creations with family and friends. She also enjoyed working on puzzles and word searches. Joan loved being outdoors and in the later years sitting out on the patio. She appreciated the simple pleasures of life, especially spending quality time with the people she loved. Above all, time spent with family and friends was precious to her, creating many special memories that will be cherished for years to come.
