James Allen Teeslink

FAIRMONT -- James Allen Teeslink, long-time resident of Fairmont, Minn., entered Heaven’s gates on July 30, 2026, at the age of 94. Jim was born Dec. 12, 1931, in Sheldon, Iowa to John and Helen Teeslink. He was the youngest of three children. They resided in Sheldon till 1949 when the family moved to Ceylon, Minnesota. Jim stayed in Sheldon with a family to complete his senior year and star in football and basketball. After graduating, Jim joined the Navy and served for four years in Guam. During that time he met and started dating June Holldorf, one of a set of twins from Ceylon. His older brother John was dating Jean Holldorf. Jim and June resided in Fairmont and Jim worked for TV Repair, flew airplanes to inspect electrical lines and later worked for many years at Fairmont Railway Motors. He was a foreman and manager. June and Jim moved to Eau Claire, Wis. for Jim to manage a Harsco-owned company for five years. They moved back to Fairmont and Jim sold Limb Loppers to golf courses and orchards around the country.

In 1991, his brother John passed away. Jean moved in with Jim and June and Jim became the patriarch of our family. At age 62, Jim retired to enjoy his favorite hobby at Interlaken Golf Club and enjoyed much success in golf tournaments around the state. Jim was a long time member of Fairmont Baptist Church and served many leadership roles in the church. Jim loved cars, flying RC airplanes and model building.

In 2018, June Teeslink passed away and according to her last wishes, Jim was to marry Jean Teeslink. They married in May of 2019. They continued to live in their home on Knollwood Dr until they moved to the Meadows Coop. Health concerns made it necessary to move to Goldfinch Assisted Living until Jean’s death. Jim then moved to the Twin Cities to be closer to family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wives June and Jean, niece Jane Alston, father-in-law Lester Holdorf, brother and sister Joyce and John.

Jim is survived by his niece Jan (Bill) Schiff, nephew Jon (Jean) Teeslink, Son-in-law Dan Alston, nieces Karen (Mike) Lansing, Gail (Chet) Komos and nephew David (Annette) Vander Ploeg, great niece Jessica Alston, great nephew John Alston (Alyssa), great nephew John Teeslink, great-great nephews Jiraiya and Julius Alston. And great- great niece, Jaylah Alston.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jim on Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Church in Hastings, 907 15th St. W, Hastings, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service, refreshments and time of remembrance follow the service.
