OCALA, Fla., formerly of FAIRMONT -- A Celebration of Life Visitation for Phyllis C. Fretty, age 77, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Fairmont, Minn., will be 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont with private family inurnment in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Phyllis passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at a hospice house in Ocala, Fla. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Phyllis Catherine (Gettel) Fretty was born on Aug. 24, 1948, in Sauk Centre, Minn. She was the daughter of August and Ann (Schmidt) Gettel. Phyllis attended Sauk Centre public schools and graduated from Sauk Centre High School.
Phyllis had many jobs over the years, including working at Heavenly Home Baked Pizza, Pearless Cleaners, and even owned a thrift store in Truman, Minn. In her retirement years, she cleaned rooms at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Charles L. Rosch and was blessed with a son. Charles was tragically killed in a car accident on July 12, 1981.
Phyllis moved to Ocala, Fla., in 2020, to be with Randy Fretty. The couple was later united in marriage on June 23, 2024. Phyllis loved the ocean and enjoyed golf cart rides in the evening. They were members of The Way Church in Ocala. Phyllis liked to spend life with her friends and loved her dog, Cody. Most important to Phyllis was the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Randy Fretty; son Chuck (Bridget) Rosch of Truman, Minn., and their children, Aleesa (Kaylee) Rosch of Seattle, Wash., and Tanner Rosch (Mollie Wilkinson) of Knoxville, Tenn.; Randy's children, Ashley (Riley) Anderson and their children, Lily, Everly, and Wyatt, of Greer, S.C., and Matt (Megan) Fretty and their daughters, Emma and Hannah, of Fairmont, Minn.; seven brothers and sisters; mother-in-law, Beverly Fretty of Fairmont, Minn.; sister-in-law, Sue (John) Lund of Fairmont, Minn.; numerous in-laws; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, August and Ann Gettel, Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Rosch; brother, Daniel Gettel; and sister, Kathy Marinac. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
