BLOOMFIELD, Ind. -- Linda Kay Porter, 67, of Bloomfield, Ind., passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.
Prior to retirement, Linda was employed by Chase Bank for 12 years. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and attending races of all kinds, but her greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was known for her generous heart, thoughtful gifts, and the pride she took in those she loved.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Charles Porter; her siblings, Keith (Mary) Petersen and Diane Thompson (Ron Greenside); her children, Steve (Karissa) Hoppe, Kristine (Tracy) Weber, Jackie Hoppe, Tyler Hoppe (Samantha Shade), Thomas Porter, Carrie (Matt) Jewell, and daughter-in-law, Melissa Porter; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Born on Oct. 17, 1958, Linda was preceded in death by her parents, the late Delbert and Phyllis (Shover) Petersen. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Porter, in 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Aug. 8, 2026, at 4 p.m. at Shelter House 9 (A and B), 2450 South Endwright Road, Bloomington, Indiana 47403. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Charles Porter, 5188 N Shingle Mill Road, Bloomfield, IN 47424
