Bette A. Stevens

FAIRMONT — A Memorial Service for Bette A. Stevens, age 87, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont with visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Those wishing to view a live stream of the of service may do so at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/a26051939415358 Inurnment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Bette passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bette Ann Mae (Bettin) Stevens was born on Aug. 10, 1938, in Belmont Township, rural Jackson, Minn. She was the daughter of Herman and Martha Ann (Peterson) Bettin. She attended Ceylon public schools and graduated from Ceylon High School in 1956.

On Aug. 10, 1960, Bette was united in marriage to Gary Stevens at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, Minn. This union was blessed with four children, Lori, Mark, Greg, and Brad. The couple later divorced in 1995.

Bette later met Dave Johnson, with whom she would remain special friends with for over 20 years before Dave passed away.

Bette worked for over 20 years at Weigh Tronix in Fairmont before her retirement in 2000. When she wasn’t busy at work, Bette enjoyed tending to her garden, golfing, taking care of her many beloved pets throughout the years, and was known to make a great casserole. Bette was a member of Interlaken Golf Club where she was active with the Ladies Board. She and her daughter, Lori, played for many years in the Mother-Daughter Golf Tournament and placed a few times. Bette was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Bette was named Miss Congeniality and placed runner-up at the Miss Fairmont pageant in 1955.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Lori (Jeff) Joyce of Naples, Fla., Mark Stevens of Fairmont, Minn., Greg Stevens of Truman, Minn., and Brad Stevens of Moose Lake, Minn.; grandchildren, Tyler (Annie) Joyce, Dr. Andrew (Jenny) Joyce, Nicole Stevens, Ryan (Bri) Stevens, Cassandra (Hunter) Handevidt, Savannah (Tyler) Hutchins, and Parker (Chloe) Stevens; great grandchildren, June, Rylee, Roman, Chloe, Brantley, Laine, Oliver, Walker, Kayden, and Jonathan; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Herman and Martha Bettin, Bette was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter (Joan) Bettin, Maynard (Margaret) Bettin, and Willard Bettin; and special friend, Dave Johnson.
