Myrna J. Behrens

FAIRMONT — Funeral Service for Myrna J. Behrens, age 82, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fraser Township, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Myrna passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at her home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Myrna (Senne) Behrens was born to Nelvin and Anna (Rieffer) Senne on Nov. 24, 1943, in Fairmont, Minn. She attended one-room school District 59 and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1961.

Myrna was employed as a secretary at Central Telephone Company after graduation right after the telephone had changed to dial.

On Sept. 18, 1965, Myrna was united in marriage to Duane Behrens at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

Myrna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church- Fraser Township where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), serving in positions at both the local and district level. She was a member of the Martin County Pork Producers, the Lutheran Retirement Home Auxiliary, served on the Board of Directors for the Caring Pregnancy Center as well as a volunteer for several years.

Myrna enjoyed Twins games, Florida vacations, reading, and baking brownies for family.

Myrna is survived by husband, Duane; son, Kevin (Lori) Behrens; daughter, Lyn (Scott) Gulbranson; sister, Myla Tietje; brothers, Ken (Judi) Senne, and Mark (Vicki) Senne; brother-in-law, Charles (Julie) Behrens; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dana) Hoagland, and Deb Harens; grandchildren, Zack (Hailey) Gulbranson, Kaitlyn Gulbranson, Katelyn (Chris) Marlatt, and Dalton (Yolanda) Fette; and three great granddaughters.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Nelvin and Anna Senne; parents-in-law, Elmer and Martha Behrens; brothers, Ronald Senne, Terry Senne, and Michael Senne; and brother-in-law, Rich Tietje.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Martin Luther High School.
