Jeremy J. Aust

FAIRMONT — A time for remembering and celebrating the life of Jeremy J. Aust, 48, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2026, at Interlaken Golf Club in Fairmont, Minn. Jeremy passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at his home in Fairmont, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Jeremy J. Aust was born March 17, 1978, in Fairmont to Jimmy and Deb Aust and raised by his mom, Joan Aust. Jeremy attended Fairmont High School, graduating in 1996. He took great pride in being a maintenance technician at Green Plains in Fairmont. He busted his ass at every position he ever worked in and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his team. He was a hard worker who enjoyed helping other people and would do anything to provide for his family.

Jeremy was an avid golfer who loved riding motorcycles, golfing with his sons, and making his grandchildren belly laugh. If he was not golfing, he would watch it in the garage while working on motorcycles, sharing his love for both alongside his three sons and grandson, Kayce.

He enjoyed the outdoors, boating with his family, having campfires, and playing friendly-yet-competitive games of beanbags. Jeremy gave the biggest and most comforting bear hugs, and his contagious laugh brought joy and the feeling of safety to his friends and family. Jeremy’s sweet tooth often led him and Mae to cookie-dough blizzards and holding hands while driving around town reminiscing. He was the peanut butter to Mae’s jelly. He was her rock, and she his. He was the rock of his family. “I love you more.”

J.J. is survived by his wife, Mae, aka “Babe,” and their sons Tanner DeWar and wife, Morgan and their children Kayce and Karsyn; Hartley Aust and girlfriend, Whytine Goerndt; Cheston Aust; Jeremy’s brother, Greg Aust and wife, Megan and their children Ayrton, Lincoln, and Berkley; his sister Janee Aust and Derek Landon and their children Tyson and Tegan; his sister, Jenna Aust, stepbrother, Josh Dietz; and his parents, Jim and Joan Aust, and Deb Aust. Also surviving, are many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, close friends, and buddies whom he loved very much.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hartley and Dorothy Aust, and Bud Padgett.
