Ervin Norman Dorow was born on Jan. 19, 1948, in Springfield, Minn., the son of Norman and Anna Mae (Willemssen) Dorow. He was confirmed in Springfield in 1962 and received his education in Wabasso and Lamberton before graduating from Wabasso High School.
On May 27, 1972, Ervin was united in marriage to Sharon Altenburg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Antrim, rural Truman, Minn. Together they made their home in Fairmont, where Ervin built a career in sales at various locations. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Ryan and Jonathan, and together Ervin and Sharon shared more than 53 wonderful years.
Ervin was a devoted member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont, where he faithfully served as an usher and greeter, always welcoming others with a warm smile.
In his free time, Erv was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and found great enjoyment in fixing small engines for friends and family. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially the special moments fixing and adjusting toys for his grandchildren. Erv and Sharon spent countless hours for the Fairmont Humane Society fostering approximately 492 cats and kittens.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon Dorow; sons, Ryan (Nicole) Dorow and Jonathan Dorow (Sarah Laplant); grandchildren, Korbyn Dorow, and Alex, Ian, Joe, and Dru Dorow, along with their mother, Lisa Dorow; brother-in-law Mike (Karen) Altenburg; sister-in-law, Linda Wannarka; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Anna Mae Dorow, and his parents-in-law, Eugene and Valeen Altenburg.
The family of Erv Dorow are very thankful to the wonderful staff and friends at Lakeview Methodist Care Center for their amazing care and love.
God Bless you all!
