Helen Backstrom Nelson
HUNTLEY — Helen Backstrom Nelson, formerly of Huntley, Minn. died in Tucson, Ariz. on March 29, 2026. Helen was born in 1929. She graduated from Fairmont, Minn. in 1947. Helen married Gene Nelson in 1954.
She was preceded in death by husband, Gene and daughter Randi Nelson Shipley.
Left to mourn her are son-in-law Dave Shipley, two grandsons, Jeff Shipley (Leslie), and Steve Shipley (Andrea), two great-grandsons, Payton and Parker Shipley, and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Shipley.
Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic breast cancer research.
