Luetta Alma (Klatt) Boeck was born on Jan. 28, 1932, in Cresco Township, Blue Earth County, Minn. She was the daughter of Oscar and Ruth (Kreisch) Klatt. Luetta was baptized as an infant on Feb. 7, 1932, and later was confirmed in her youth on March 25, 1945, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Willow Creek by Rev. E.L. Lorenz. She attended St. John’s school in Willow Creek through the 8th grade and later attended Madelia High School.

On Jan. 21, 1949, Luetta was united in marriage to Orval Boeck at St. John’s Lutheran in Willow Creek by Rev. F.J. Mack. Luetta worked at Scherr Tumico in St. James for nine years before working at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia for over 24 years. The couple shared over sixty-six years before Orval passed away on Oct. 11, 2015.

During her free time, Luetta enjoyed embroidery, going thrifting and out for lunch on Saturdays, as well as tending to her garden and said that she even missed being able to pull the weeds. Luetta was known to plan months ahead for the meals she would prepare for the holidays. She and Orval enjoyed traveling to many places including Washington DC, Duluth, and many times to Branson, but she especially loved the trip she was able to take to Germany.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Irene Pfeffer of Lewisville, Minn., and son, Mark (Robyn) Boeck of Winnebago, Minn.; grandchildren, Darcy (Bill) Pongratz of Mankato, Minn., Derek Pfeffer of Lewisville, Minn., and Darin Pfeffer of Winnebago, Minn.; great grandchildren, Jessica Geiger, and Brooklyn Pfeffer; and other relatives and friends. Along with her husband, Orval Boeck, Luetta was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mavis Jean; brother, Wallace Klatt; sister, Loretta Klaus and her husband, Herbert; brother-in-law, Ivan Boeck and his wife, Lorna; and niece, Cheryl Boeck.

The family would like to thank the staff at Living Meadows at Luther as well as the Ecumen Hospice staff for their loving care of Luetta.
