Dennis A. Leiding
MANKATO, Minn., formerly of CEYLON, Minn. — A Memorial Service for Dennis A. Leiding, age 75, of Mankato, Minn., formerly of Ceylon, Minn., will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Inurnment will be in Tenhassen Township Cemetery in rural Ceylon at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Dennis passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Laurel’s Peak Rehab Center in Mankato. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dennis Arthur Leiding was born on his dad’s birthday on July 15, 1950, in Fairmont, Minn. He was the son of William and Hazel (Schnittger) Leiding. Dennis was baptized as an infant at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert, Minn., and later was confirmed in his youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, Minn. Dennis attended Ceylon public school before later attending and graduating from the Faribault School for the Blind in 1969.
Dennis worked for 45 years at MRCI in Mankato before retiring in 2015. When he wasn’t busy at work, Dennis loved to get together with his friends to play cards.
Left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Melvin (Sandy) Leiding of Hinckley, Minn., David Leiding of Ceylon, Minn., Dale (Jeanne) Leiding of Fairmont, Minn., and Gloria Leiding of Fairmont, Minn.; nephew, Ray (Melanie) Leiding and their children, Dylan, Joshua, and Matthew; nieces, Diane (Rodney) Irons and their children, Madison (Jay) Holland, and Reagan, Kristin (Andy) Covert and their children, Claire and Drew, and Jennifer (Paul) Svien and their children, Allison and Oliva; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, William and Hazel Leiding, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Leiding; sister-in-law, Deb Leiding; great niece, Ava Svien; and paternal and maternal grandparents.
