FAIRMONT — A Celebration of Life Service for Ricky L. Johnson, 64, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Military honors will be held outside the funeral home following the service by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday. Ricky passed away on Monday afternoon, Feb. 23, 2026, at his home in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ricky Lee Johnson was born on Feb. 18, 1962, to John F. and Betty L. (Christensen) Johnson in Fairmont, Minn. He graduated from Fairmont High School and attended computer school in Missouri. Ricky served in the United States Army and was stationed in Italy.
In 1988, Ricky was united in marriage to Deeneen Paradis in Waseca, Minn. This union was blessed with two daughters, Rebecca and Lynsay. The couple later divorced. Ricky worked at several jobs, including Brown Printing in Waseca and Green Plains Ethanol Plant in Fairmont.
Ricky enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and he had a natural creative talent that showed in all that he did.
Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancé, Nikki Trieder of Fairmont; mother, Betty Johnson of Fairmont; children, Rebecca Johnson of Fairmont and Lynsay (Gary Janssen) Eves of Waseca; four grandchildren, Madison Mosser, Adyn Johnson, Kailee Johnson and Brylee Johnson; brothers, John (Nyla) Johnson of Truman and James (Debbie) Johnson of Winnebago; sister, Mary Jo (Carl) Tungland of Frost; brother-in-law, Mike Newville of Fairmont; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father, John F. Johnson; sister, Janice Marie Newville; brothers, Bernie C. Johnson, Floyd P. Johnson and Tommy A. Johnson; brother-in-law, Larry E. Tungland (Whitey); niece, Sheryl Johnson; great-niece, Kayle Cook; and ex-wife, Deeneen Johnson.
