Patricia A. Green
FAIRMONT — A time for remembering and celebrating the life of Patricia A. Green, 69, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held at a later date. Patricia passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Patricia Ann (Haugen) Green was born March 7, 1956, in Montevideo, Minn., the daughter of Charles E.L. and Mary Louis (Anderson) Haugen. Pat grew up in Fairmont where she attended school and graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1974.
Following her graduation, Pat attended beautician school and built a reputation not only for her skill with scissors but for the warmth, humor, and conversation that filled every chair she stood behind.
Pat had a passion for caring for others and returned to school to pursue nursing, earning her RN degree and stepping into a role that would define much of her life’s work. As a labor and delivery nurse at Fairmont Community Hospital and later at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont, she welcomed countless babies into the world, offering steady hands and a reassuring presence during life’s most miraculous moments.
While dedicating herself to nursing, Pat never put down her shears. Family and friends continued to gather in her kitchen for “haircuts and cocktails.”
On Feb. 19, 1982, Pat married Robert D. Green, in Honolulu, Hawaii; a beautiful beginning to a marriage that would span 42 years. Together they made their home on the Green Family Farm near East Chain, Minn., building a life rooted in hard work and shared dreams. Their marriage was one of steady devotion and joyful companionship until Bob’s passing in 2024.
Pat found peace and happiness outdoors, tending her garden, watching birds flutter through the yard, and soaking up the quiet beauty of Minnesota seasons. She cherished traveling, especially trips that led her to the beach, where the rhythm of the waves matched her adventurous spirit.
Above all, Pat loved her family. She celebrated their milestones and supported them with their struggles. Pat’s life was one of service, adventure, and steadfast love, a beautiful testament to a woman who never stopped caring, for those around her.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Kyle (Kayla) Green of Fairmont, Minn.; grandchildren, Kylee Green and fiancé, Brad of Fargo, N.D., Kameryn Green of Minneapolis, Minn., and Charles Green of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter, Michele Green of Hopkins, Minn.; brother, Chuck (Peg) Haugen; in-law’s, Pat (Ken) Buhmann, Lois (Craig) Jaskulke, Rick (Denise) Green, Randy (Marilyn) Green, and Tom (Jeannie) Green; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Haugen; husband, Robert Green; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Doris Green; brother, Roger Haugen; two infant brothers; other relatives and friends. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
