Evah Mae Raney lived a full life as a wife, mother, nurse, and friend. Evah was born on May 31, 1941, in rural Ireton, Iowa. She was the youngest child of Elmer and Marilla Earll. Her mother died when Evah was only five years old, shaping her future. She was then raised by her sister, Elinor Kluver in Darfur, Minn. It is there she met her high school sweetheart and husband, Lauren Raney. After high school graduation, Evah went on to nursing training at the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing and received her RN degree in 1962. Lauren and Evah were married later that year on Sept. 1, making 63 years of marriage. After moving to Fairmont, Minn., they expanded their family two years later, welcoming Douglas (Ronell) and later Tamra (Glenn) and Eric (Brenda). Evah was a wife and mother during her children’s younger years, but she then returned to nursing. She worked at the Fairmont Hospital, the Detox Center, the REM facility, and finally as night supervisor at the Lakeview Methodist Nursing Home. She greatly enjoyed traveling and spending time with her eight grandchildren Allison (Zacharey), Abigail, Alexsandra, Angela, Alec, Brynn, Annabel and Nolan, as well as great-granddaughter, Hazel. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Maxine and Elinor, and brother Lyle. Evah is also survived by her adored nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evah will be remembered for her smile, laughter, and love for her family.
