Dean Eugene Hilpipre was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Pilot Grove Township, the son of Lewis and Myrtle (Swanson) Hilpipre. Dean grew up on the family farm outside of Pilot Grove and attended East Chain school, graduating with the class of 1950. He continued to help farm as well as run heavy equipment for Zufall Construction, and later with Tow Brothers Construction Company. Dean had also worked as a lumberjack and beekeeper in his younger years.

On Sept. 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Janet M. Zufall and the couple were blessed with four children; Darvin, Dennis, Valerie and Debra. In 1966, they settled on a farm by East Chain, where Dean continued to farm and work in construction until retiring and moving up north to Outing, MN. Dean had a love for the outdoors and looked forward to the change of seasons and opportunities to fish, snowmobile, cut wood and have bonfires.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Darvin of Fairmont, Dennis (Darlene) of Blue Earth and Debra (Eddie) Kitson of Backus, Minn., eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, his special friend Ann Buchan and other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janet, daughter, Valerie, a granddaughter, his mother and father-in-law, one brother, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and one son-in-law.

Donations in memory of Dean to UHD Hospice or the Martin County Relay for Life would be greatly appreciated.
