Gloria J. Anderson

FAIRMONT — Services for Gloria J. Anderson, 81, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be held following the service in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Gloria passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Gloria Jean Anderson was born April 2, 1944, at the Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Gus and Fern (Schultz) Anderson. As a young girl, Gloria attended country school District #5 and later Fairmont public school graduating from Fairmont High School with the class of 1962.

Gloria would go on to further her education attending and earning her degree from the Minnesota School of Business. She worked various jobs throughout her career but enjoyed her time working as an office administrative assistant for Bevcom.

Gloria had a wonderful sense of humor with an infectious giggle. She was goofy and witty and brought joy to those around her. Gloria was incredibly kind and caring and made all of her family members feel special when they received their birthday cards from her.

Gloria liked keeping busy tending to her plants and yard and also keeping her house spotless and beautiful. She loved going for drives around the countryside and playing scratch off tickets. Gloria cherished memories made in her younger years, camping and fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Gus “Skip” Anderson and his wife, Annie of Fairmont, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Helen (Wendell) Rode, Laurie (Dale) Anderson, Mark Kurseth, Steve Kurseth, Terra Anderson, Heather (Travis) Bowman, and Emily Anderson; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Fern Anderson; a sister, Shirley Kurseth; and a brother-in-law, Dwaine Kurseth.
