Ekstadt was called to her eternal rest on Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2025 at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice in Edina, Minn. Family and friends are welcome to the visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Kramer Family Funeral Home of Sherburn, Trimont and Welcome, Minn. is in charge of Ekstadt’s arrangements.

Joyce Adell Hansen was born on Feb. 10, 1933 to Harry and Esther Hansen on the farm in Cedar Township, Martin County, Minn.

Ekstadt is survived by her children: Cheryl Swanson of Sioux Falls, S.D., Leanne Ekstadt of Minneapolis, Minn., and Paul Ekstadt of Lakeville, Minn., four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, brother Dale Hansen, sister Karen Buehler, brother Larry Hansen, and brother Brian Hansen.
