Betty Felber
FAIRMONT — It is with deep sorrow that we announce our beautiful Elizabeth “Betty” Marie (Trembley) Felber passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 93. She was born in Fairmont, Minn. to Bert and Ella Trembley, their only daughter in the family of five boys. She remained a resident of Fairmont for 90 years until she and her husband Standley Felber moved to Altamonte Springs, Fla., in the fall of 2022 to reside with their daughter Nancy.
Betty was an active parishioner and Circle Club member at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church. Her book and many bridge clubs also kept her very busy.
“Muttie” as family fondly called her, was definitely the hostess with the mostess; she made every gathering a special occasion. Some of the dearest memories were made during Fourth of July celebrations on Oak Beach Drive. Betty’s family, friends, and relatives would gather for swimming, boating, fireworks and great food. Everyone felt fortunate to experience the beautiful sunsets on Budd Lake, with their Muttie. It was her “golden pond.”
Betty will be truly missed by all who knew her. She had such a “gift of gab” and light about her that left you with a smile, remembering her humor and numerous wonderful stories.
Muttie always said “life is what you make it” and that she did. She lived her life to the fullest and loved the way God intended, unconditionally. She was there, she was present, she cared, she loved. What an absolute gift to know her, and what an honor to be loved by her.
Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Randee Gunderson and her son-in-law, Donald Gunderson, as well as grandson, Cory Highland, son of Nancy and Gary Highland.
She is survived by: Her husband of 74 years, Standley Felber. Two daughters: Jamee (Tony) and Nancy. Five grandchildren: Kelly (Bryan), Megan (Griffin), Alex (Jessie), Alyssa (Brandon) and Betsy (Max). Nine great-grandchildren: Ella, Amelia, Gavin, Desmond, Cory Ann, Leo, Neko, Louisa and Cash. A funeral will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont at a later date with details to be announced.
