Dean Moller
FAIRMONT — A Celebration of Life service to honor the life and legacy of Dean Moller, 86, of Fairmont, formerly of Blue Earth and Windom, was held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Monday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m., with a time of visitation and gathering from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
On Aug. 7, 2025, Dean Roger Moller, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He passed away peacefully at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, Minn.
Dean was born in Windom, Minn., on Dec. 17, 1938, to Fred and Margaret Moller. He grew up on a farm south of Jeffers, Minn. Dean graduated from Jeffers High School and attended South Dakota State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Following college, he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
On April 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Wells. They eventually settled in Blue Earth, Minn., in the late 1960s. Dean greatly enjoyed living on his hobby farm, where he and Marilyn raised their three children, Scott, Steve, and Shannon. They spent 49 years on the family farm, where he raised cattle and sheep and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Dean was employed as the Faribault County Assessor for 28 years, retiring in 2001. He was a longtime Sunday School teacher and deacon at First Baptist Church in Blue Earth and Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Moller of Fairmont; three children and their spouses, Scott (Julie) Moller of Princeton, Steve Moller of Trimont, and Shannon (Eric) Ylkanen of Chisago City; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Tibodeau of Windom, and Jorie (G. Kevin) Erickson of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho; one nephew, Brett Tibodeau, and his niece, Kristi Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grace Margaret Moller; and in-laws, Jesse and Fern Wells.
