Nancy E. Erickson

FAIRMONT — A Celebration of Life Visitation for Nancy E. Erickson, 68, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A private inurnment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont at a later date. Nancy passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Nancy Ellen (Swindell) Erickson was born on Feb. 20, 1957, in Wichita, Kan., to Joyce (Frisbie) Kollasch. She spent her early years in Wichita before moving to Fairmont in 1971, where she was raised by her mother, Joyce and Ken Kollasch. Nancy later graduated from Fairmont High School in 1975.

On April 2, 1977, Nancy was united in marriage to Kevin Erickson, beginning a journey together that would last nearly five decades. Together they made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with two daughters, Beth and Rachel. Throughout her professional career, Nancy worked as a bookkeeper. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, collecting antiques, caring for her plants and flower garden, boating and fishing, and keeping up with her favorite TV shows. Above all, Nancy cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Kevin Erickson; daughters, Beth (Ken) Stensrud, and Rachel Manwarren; grandchildren, Calista Stensrud, Carson Stensrud, Drake Manwarren, and Ericka Manwarren; her mother, Joyce Kollasch; sister-in-law, Cindi Anderson; brothers-in-law, David Erickson, and Larry (Becky) Erickson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Ken Kollasch; son-in-law, Ryan Manwarren; brother-in-law, Ted Anderson; and her parents-in-law, Einar and Ardys Erickson.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Nancy’s dear friends, Carol Pierce and Ruth McGrath, as well as the dedicated staff at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Lutz Cancer Center, and Mayo Ambulance Service of Fairmont for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Nancy throughout her battle with cancer. Memorials are preferred to Martin County Relay for Life or the Lutz Cancer Center in Fairmont.
