EAST MOLINE, Ill. — Funeral services for Rebecca A. “Becky” Bancks, 67, of East Moline, Ill. will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline, Ill. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont, Minn. Mrs. Bancks passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her home.

Rebecca Ann Bancks was born Dec. 1, 1957 in Chicago, Ill., lovingly welcomed by her parents Robert and Leona (Dawiedczyk) Lietz and three older siblings Gloria, Michael, and Robert, Jr. She attended grade school in Hanover Park, Ill. and graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe, Ariz. in 1976. In Scottsdale, Ariz., she met the love of her life, Daniel Bancks, and they married in Nov. of 1978. She considered the spiritual formation and education of their three children, Joseph, Jacob, and Jennifer, her most important life’s work. The family settled in Fairmont, Minn. and became active and faithful members of Bethel Evangelical Free Church, where Becky served in countless ways, including as youth group leader and host of in-home Bible studies. Beginning in 1996, she and Dan moved several times, living in South Dakota, Miss., and Ill., finally settling in East Moline in 2018. After her children were grown, she completed her own education with great determination, gaining certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She deeply loved her work as an LPN, especially when serving senior citizens in memory care. At the time of her death, she worked at Park Vista in East Moline.

Becky’s life was animated most of all by her love of Jesus Christ, and she was profoundly devoted to her family. Amid the happy and difficult times of life, she demonstrated deep and abiding confidence in the faithfulness of God. When asked, her grandchildren remember her as “sincere”, “kind”, “loving”, “thoughtful”, “happy” and “nice.” They live with the memory of her joyful presence at family holidays (especially Thanksgiving and Easter), faith-life milestones, and granddaughter tea parties.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Daniel; children, Joseph (Katharine) Bancks, Gladstone, Miss., Jacob (Kara) Bancks, Moline, Ill., and Jennifer (Charles) Gray, Gallatin, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Gloria (Rich) Ludwig, Des Plaines, Ill.; and brother, Robert (Julie) Lietz Jr., Prescott Valley, Ariz.). She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael Lietz.
