Virginia Carol Mielke was born May 25, 1941, in Halloran Hospital in Jackson, Minn., the daughter of Waldo Harry and Vivian E. (Roth) Mielke. Virginia grew up in Fairmont, where she attended school.

Virginia was kind and caring and lived life to the fullest. She was incredibly talented at doing embroidery work and often could be found helping her mother create beautiful dish towels. In her youth, Virginia had an uncanny ability to remember actors, not just by their screen names, but also by their given names and what programs they appeared on. She enjoyed painting and could often be found working on a new paint by number piece. Virginia loved spending time outdoors tending to the yard and picking up sticks. Her quiet time was spent working on word-find books and watching the beauty of nature from her window. Virginia treasured spending time with family and going out for meals with them.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Barb (Greg) Borowski and Ken (Nancy) Mielke; nieces, and nephews, Mark (Julie) Mielke and their children, Grace, Ethan, and Kate; Lori (Josh) Kurpiers and their children, Paul and Evan, Jeff Borowski, and Jeannie (Nathan) Carritt and their children, Rylie and Charlie; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Vivian Mielke; brother, Robert Mielke; and a nephew, David Borowski.
