Eva Lou Schmidt
SHERBURN — A Funeral Service for Eva Lou “Manzey” Schmidt, 80, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and formerly of Sherburn, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn., with burial in the Sherburn Cemetery.
Eva Lou Schmidt was called to her eternal rest on Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2025, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Kramer Family Funeral Home of Welcome, Sherburn, and Trimont, Minn. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Schmidt, who passed away at the age of 80, was the daughter of Henry and Lanore Manzey. She was born on Oct. 17, 1944.
Schmidt is survived by Harold S. Schmidt, her husband of 60 years, who resides in Sioux Falls, S.D., sister, Jolene Manzey of Northfield, Minn.; Aunt Lois Lee of Jackson, Minn.; sister-in-law, Darlene Schmidt Fortune of Fergus Falls, Minn.; and her sister-in-law, Boni Wolff of Portland, Ore, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her children: Karman Squires of Le Mars, Iowa; Kristin Schmidt Larson of Bismarck, N.D.; and Erich Schmidt of Sioux Falls, S.D., seven grandchildren.
