Lorraine M. VanNote

FAIRMONT — Memorial Service for Lorraine M. VanNote, 95, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, at the United Methodist Church in Fairmont. Those wishing to view a live stream of the service may do so at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/a2505359549534Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont at a later date. Lorraine passed away on Monday evening, May 19, 2025, at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lorraine Mavis (Krogh) VanNote was born on Dec. 12, 1929, in Jackson, Minn.. She was the daughter of Severt and Alma (Berkness) Krogh. Lorraine attended Jackson Public School and graduated from Jackson High School in 1947.
On June 13, 1948, Lorraine was united in marriage to Darrell VanNote in Jackson. This union was blessed with five children, Teresa, Pat, Karen, Duane, and Bob. The couple resided in Jackson for two years before moving to Iowa. The family later moved to Sherburn, Minn., before settling in Fairmont, where Lorraine worked at 3M and later at the Highland Café and cleaned at Bowl-Mor Lanes until her retirement. Lorraine and Darrell shared over 57 years together before Darrell passed away on Sept. 24, 2005.
Lorriane was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was active with the lunch committee, helping with Wednesday suppers and funeral lunches. In their younger years, Lorraine enjoyed going dancing with Darrell as well as taking trips together up north to the Maple Lake area. Lorraine also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Women’s League and Mixed Couples League. After bowling, she and Darrell would often get together with friends and play cards. Lorraine most loved the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory include her children, Teresa Wojtanowicz, Pat (Al) Voigt, Karen (Doug) McLellan, Duane VanNote, and Bob (Penney) VanNote; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Forrest (Fern) Krogh; sister-in-law, Sharon (Duane) Skrove; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Severt and Alma Krogh, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell VanNote; and sister, Arlene Anderson and her husband, Bernard.
