BLUE EARTH — Joan Carol Hall, 84, of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at Heartland Senior Living, Parker Oaks Campus in Winnebago, Minn. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. A time for visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery on a later date.
Joan was born on Sept. 27, 1940, in Milo Township, Mille Lacs County, Minn., to Kenneth and Veva (Moats) Distad. She graduated from Blue Earth High School. On Jan. 7, 1959, Joan married the love of her life, Harlan Hal, at the Methodist church in Blue Earth.
Joan was a busybody and worked several jobs over her lifetime. She was the canteen manager at Green Giant, a clerk for Krupp Auctioneering, a hostess at Country Kitchen, and a head wreath maker at Elmore Wreath Company. She also helped her husband on the farm and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church. Joan enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, and adding to her porcelain shoe collection. Most of all, she loved her family dearly.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harlan; son, Jason (Rose) Hall of Blue Earth; granddaughters, Sophia Mae and Gwyneth Josephine; brother, Duane (Debbie) Distad of Sioux Falls; and sister-in-law, Lorna Distad of Blue Earth.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, LeRoy (Connie) Distad and Ronald Distad.
