Flossie M. Fryer

FAIRMONT — Funeral Service for Flossie Mae Fryer, 62, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont with interment in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flossie passed away on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 7, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Flossie Mae (Wayman) Fryer was born on Aug. 5, 1962, in Kansas City, Mo. She was the daughter of Morris and Edna (Divish) Wayman. She attended Neligh, Nebr., public schools and graduated from Neligh High School in 1980.

On July 31, 1989, Flossie was united in marriage to Jerry Fryer in Omaha, Nebr. The couple resided in Omaha before moving to Minneapolis. They later moved to Pine City, Minn., where they lived for over fourteen years before moving to Fairmont in 2006.

Flossie worked as a manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Pine City for many years. After moving to Fairmont, she worked as a cashier as well as being the Deli Manager at County Market. During her free time, Flossie enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds including beadwork, diamond painting, canvas, and many others. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Flossie. She especially loved the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry Fryer of Fairmont, Minn.; children, John Wayman (Chelsea Rice) of Fairmont, Minn., Angel Fryer of Fairmont, Minn., and Daniel Wayman of Brainerd, Minn.; grandchildren, Neveah, Raeann, Addison, Ryleigh, Schuyler, Jayden, Raeleann, and Sabastian; sisters, Fern Miller of Fairmont, Minn., and Edith Wayman of Fairmont, Minn.; brothers, Ollie Wayman of Fairmont, Minn., and Terry Wayman of Hinckley, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Sue (Scott) Black of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jackie Fryer of Omaha, Nebr.; brothers-in-law, Thomas Fryer of Omaha, Nebr., and Walter (Cindy) Fryer of Freemont, Nebr.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Morris and Edna Wayman, Flossie was also preceded in death by a grandson, Landon Wayman; brothers, Morris Wayman, and Allen Wayman; and sister, Antionette Wayman; sister-in-law, Karen Fryer; brothers-in-law, Richard Fryer Jr., and Neil Fryer.
