Grace Evelyn Sheely Stoutenberg Siebrass

FAIRMONT — Born Feb. 11, 1929, to Fred R. and Alma (nee Martin) Sheely in Fairmont, Minn. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. Attended Fairmont High School, graduating in 1947. During her school years, she worked in the bean fields, detasseled corn, Fairmont Canning Plant #2, Burton’s Café, and Fairmont Community Hospital in housekeeping.

She married Richard Stoutenberg, grandson of Lena Frakes, on Oct. 26, 1947. They had three children, Vicki Lynn, Donald Richard, and Peggy Jo. Grace was active in PTA, American Legion Auxiliary Post #36, serving as President and other offices, DAV, Scouts, Campfire Girls, her Church and held various offices in the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She worked part-time at JC Penney’s and as a Certified Nurses Aide at Fairmont Community Hospital. Later she attended Iowa Lakes Community College, graduating Cum Laude as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1980, and continued working at Fairmont Community Hospital. Richard passed April 26, 1990.

She married Hershel Siebrass from Mankato, Minn. on June 27, 1992. They moved to Aerie Lake in Alborn, Minn. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cloquet, Minn. They moved to Keystone Communities of Mankato July 5, 2007, and joined Hosanna Lutheran Church. Hersh passed Feb. 9, 2017. She moved to the Crossings of Brookwood, Brooklyn Center, Minn. in 2019, and joined LCM Church. Her fun times included time with her family, square dancing, camping, card clubs (bridge, 500, and cribbage), golf, trying to learn new crafts, traveling, and their many winters in Fiesta Village, Mission, Texas.

She was preceded in death by Grandma Lena Frakes, her parents Fred and Alma Sheely, her husband Richard Stoutenberg, her husband Hershel Siebrass, 3 brothers in law, Frances Marquardt, Wilfred Callstrom and Walter Bahr, two grandsons, Abraham Lytle and Alexander Wicka, one great-grandson Clay Wicka, three sons in law, Jeffery Lytle, Charles Wicka and Tony Olivier, Son Donald Stoutenberg, Special family friend Jim Lanier, Siblings Gilbert Sheely, Dorothy Bahr, Donald Sheely, Ilene Callstrom.

She is survived by Daughters Vicki Wicka and Peggy Jo Olivier, 14 grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her two daughters on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024. Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 22 at LCM Church in Brooklyn Center, Minn. Viewing will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. with service at 3 p.m. Interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont, Minn.
