Joanne Fay Anderson
MAHTOMEDI — Joanne Fay (Syverson) Anderson, 86, of Mahtomedi, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood. Joanne was born on Dec. 21, 1937, in Emmons, to Stanley and Margaret (Peterson) Syverson. She grew up in Blue Earth and graduated from High School there. She worked as a waitress at the Sirloin House in Fairmont for many years, and at 3M in Fairmont & Maplewood.
On July 11, 1982, Joanne was united in marriage to Kay “Andy” Anderson, her high school sweetheart, and they made their home together in Mahtomedi.
Joanne enjoyed sewing, knitting, cross-stitching, and spending time with her family. She possessed a sharp wit and was fond of reading and dancing with her daughters when they were younger to Tom Jones and Neil Diamond. Joanne cherished the memories of the years she and Andy spent on the road camping and visiting friends.
Joanne will remain in the hearts of her husband Andy; her daughters Lori (Bob) Tesdahl of Ceylon, Minn, Mary (Scott) Heupel of Brook Park, Minn, and Diana Bjorkman (Greg Nelson) of Lindstrom, Minn; step-sons Tom (Kathy) Anderson of Cambridge, Minn, and Tony (Sheri) Anderson of Osceola, WI; and the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Gary) Schock of Rapid City, S.Dak., and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband William Allen.
