Linda passed away Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, 2024, at her home in Granada. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Linda Marie (Ash) Strauser was born Aug. 11, 1949, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Ralph Ash and May (Robert) Schock. When Linda was two years old, the family moved to Astoria, Oregon. In 1963, they moved back to Minnesota. Linda graduated from Huntley High School after falling in love with the smaller schools.

On Dec. 27, 1969, Linda was united in marriage to Dale Strauser. This union was blessed with three children, Shawn, Chad and Lisa. The family resided in Granada, Minn., where Linda was first responder for 10 years as well as being a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Linda and Dale shared over fifty-four years together.

Linda worked at the Granada Supper Club for 15 years and later worked at Shopko in Fairmont for over 33 years. When she wasn’t planning parties for the kids, she loved staying busy playing golf, dancing, going up north fishing with her brothers, as well as tending to her flowers, and was on the Centennial Committee in Granada. If she felt stressed, Linda found peace in simply sitting outside, being by the ocean and watching sunsets and sunrises. She most loved all the time she was able to spend with her family. Linda loved the Tim McGraw song “Humble and Kind” and hoped that all of her family and her friends would always live by the words of that song because life is short, love each other.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dale Strauser of Granada, Minn.; children, Shawn Strauser of Sioux Falls, S.D., Chad Strauser (Jamie Maday) of Fairmont, Minn. and Lisa (Nathan) Meixell of Granada, Minn.; grandchildren, Samantha (Justin) Phillis, Cynthia Strauser (Nick Smith), Jayme (Isaac) Abel, Jordyn (Brody) Meyer, Dyllan Meixell, Payton Strauser, Ethan Meixell, Kaiden Musser and Jada Meixell; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Hayes, Nora, Rose, Sonny, Scottie, and Aria; siblings, Jerry Ash of Tofte, Minn., Linda (Skip) Powers of Prairieburg, Iowa, Darryl Schock of Granada, Minn. and Randy Schock of Fairmont, Minn.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Patricia Johnson of Amboy, Minn., Bruce Strauser of Lacey, Wash., Jeff (Kitty) Strauser of Marion, Iowa and Michele Ehlert (John Neitzel) of Fairmont, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Ralph Ash and May and Robert Schock, Linda was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Amelia Phillis; brother, Junior Ash; sisters-in-law, Sandy Ash and Elaine Ash; and parents-in-law, Donald and Eveyln Strauser. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
