Kay Michelle (Greeley) Wrucke was born Feb. 16, 1951, in Mankato, Minn., the daughter of Donald “Bud” and DoLores (Kruggel) Greeley and was welcomed home by an older sister, Jannette. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Decoria Township.
Kay grew up in North Mankato and Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School. Following her graduation, she attended Mankato State College where she earned her degree.
In 1975, Kay was united in marriage to Marlin Wrucke at Redeemer Lutheran Church and the couple was blessed to be able to adopt two children, Judd and Ashley.
Kay had a variety of jobs which led her to the Martin County Recorder’s Office for 31 years. Her time there was spent advancing the office in technology and worked with state agencies, legislation and aided in the development of specific software for the recorder’s office. She was past president of several national associations and multiple state associations. Kay found joy in teaching Sunday School at Grace Lutheran Church, was a board member of the Martin County Pioneer Museum and was involved in garden and book clubs and CBS Bible Study at Grace Lutheran Church.
Most important to Kay was God, her loving family and her home. Her six grandchildren ranging in age from three to twenty-two were a blessing and joy. Her fun and laughter came from Marlin, friends, and trips with girlfriends.
