AMBOY — A funeral service for Billy J. Boesch, 93, of Amboy, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 21, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church, 240 North St. East in Amboy. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church. Burial with military honors will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Amboy.

Boesch passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11 a.m. Aug. 21, at the church in Amboy. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billy was born March 23, 1931, in Mankato, Minn. In February of 1952, he was drafted in the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of Sergeant while stationed in Austria. He was honorably discharged.

Survivors include: his wife of 73 years, Verla; children, Rodney Boesch, Jeffery Boesch and Rebecca Scheiber; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
