CEYLON — Services for Rodney A. E. Johnson, age 86, of rural Ceylon, Minn., will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church. Rod donated himself to the University of Minnesota to aid in medical study, especially the brain and Parkinson’s. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn.

Johnson passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, July 15, 2024, at his home. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rodney Allan Emil Johnson was born May 9, 1938, in Hibbing, Minn., son of Johan and Helen (Johnson) Johnson. Rod enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Nov. 19, 1956, where he served as an accounting and finance specialist. He received his honorable discharge on Aug. 20, 1960.

Survivors include: his wife, Leslie Johnson; sons, Rod E., Michael and Jett; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three special great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Jean; sister, Arlen; other relatives and friends.
