FAIRMONT — Private family services for Elaine K. Woodruff, 75, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held at a later date. Elaine passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2024, at her home in Fairmont, Minn., surrounded by her loving family. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Elaine Kay (Christensen) Woodruff was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Victor and LaVonne (Brown) Christensen. As a young girl, the family moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where she attended school.

On Aug. 12, 1968, Elaine was united in marriage to John R. Woodruff at Riverside Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Together they welcomed two daughters, Lorie and Sara.

Elaine had a passion for helping and caring for others. She worked for over 20 years as a nurse’s aide in Fort Dodge and following a move to Minnesota, she worked at an assisted living facility in Blue Earth in addition to cleaning homes and area businesses.

Family was extremely important to Elaine, and she made sure to be a part of her children and grandchildren’s lives. From helping to watch the little ones to supporting them in their activities as they grew older, Elaine was there every step of the way. Elaine enjoyed traveling and held many special memories from her “mini” trips and bus tours. She loved attending Christian meetings and yearly assemblies and conventions. She loved her little cabins, and it was a perfect day if she could grab a coffee or have lunch with her daughters. Elaine truly appreciated the simple things in life. Elaine had faith in her God Jehovah and looked forward to the promised resurrection and reuniting with her family and friends in perfect health. (Acts 24:15) (Isaiah 33:24)

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lorie (Brad) Altheide, Sara (Travis) Fjeld and Stewart Sturdevant; grandchildren, Dylan (Mariah) Krosch, Lahna Lopez, Chase Altheide, Scarlett Fjeld, Wilson Fjeld, Oliver Fjeld, Ruby Fjeld, Devon Sturdevant and Sebastian (Emma) Sturdevant; brother, Bart Hunt; sisters-in-law, Emma (Jim) Phillips, Nancy (Doug) Sheiker and Margaret Woodruff; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
